Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Trailer Teases

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Trailer Teases; Hello and welcome to the Multiverse of Madness.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has received its first official trailer, and it looks insane.

Doctor Strange 2’s first teaser, released by Marvel Studios on December 22 – and what a lovely, early holiday gift it is, too – features plenty of multiversal action, Avengers reunions, new character introductions, and the return of a fan-favourite character from Marvel’s What If…? animated anthology series.

Below is the trailer for the next film in Marvel’s Phase 4 slate, which is expected to be released

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Trailer Teases

This teaser will be familiar to Marvel fans who have seen Spider-Man: No Way Home, the most recent Marvel film to hit theatres. It was one of the post-credits scenes in No Way Home, which isn’t surprising given that No Way Home was a multiversal film in the vein of Doctor Strange 2.

Even yet, this will be the first time that other MCU fans have seen what Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sorcerer Supreme has in store. And it appears that when the Multiverse of Madness arrives in 2022, he’ll have a lot on his plate.

Strange, as expected, seek the help of Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) as various Marvel realms intersect in the first Doctor Strange 2 trailers. This looks to be an extension of the enchantment set by Doctor Strange during the conclusion of No Way Home, which was designed to prevent characters from other Marvel realities from flowing into the MCU.

Strange’s magic, on the other hand, appears to have failed miserably. Either that, or he unleashes an unimaginable evil after an old opponent returns and tampers with his Time Stone experiments, as the film’s premise suggests. That antagonist appears to be Chiwetel Ejiofor’s Baron Mordo, based on the trailer.

Strange, on the other hand, shouldn’t be concerned about their reunion. In addition, the trailer shows him mentoring Xochitl Gomez’s America Chavez, a time-travelling superhero, battling a tentacled monster in New York (some fans believe it’s Shuma Gorath, while others believe it’s Gargantos, whose appearance was teased in a leaked jigsaw puzzle), and travelling to various realms of the multiverse.

The trailer’s final few seconds, however, hold the biggest surprise. That’s correct, Doctor Strange will meet Strange Supreme, the villainous iteration of the character from Marvel’s What If…? TV program.

Strange Supreme appears to be the “unspeakable evil” that Strange and Mordo will unleash early in the film if they battle. After all, Mordo is a roaming sorcerer who steals the powers of other sorcerers if he doesn’t think they’re worthy. Given the possibility that Doctor Strange is a sorcerer, it’s not surprising that Mordo returns to take away his magical skills.

But that’s beside the point. Strange Supreme is immensely strong – as What If…? demonstrated, he’s full of other sorcerers’ abilities – and if he wants to conquer the multiverse, he’ll be difficult to resist. If that’s the case, it’ll take more than Strange, Wanda, America Chavez, and the rest of the team to stop him.

Of course, we could be incorrect on this. There have been a lot of theories and conjecture about what would happen in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, as well as who might appear. What we do know is that Marvel’s next film will be the weirdest and potentially terrifying yet. So, let’s buckle up for a mind-bending voyage.

On May 6, 2022, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be released exclusively in theatres.
